Mock examinations and booster classes form an integral part of our services and are available to both internal and private candidates.
Our mock examination service is available throughout the year and encompasses the setting of the most up-to-date past paper, provision of the examination room, invigilation, post-examination marking of the paper and the preparation and sending of a short report to the student via email. The report will contain the mock examination mark achieved together with notes highlighting areas of strength and weakness. The mock examination report is usually sent to the candidate a few days after completion of the mock examination.
Alternatively, students can complete a mock examination paper at home and send the paper to us for marking and preparation of a short report. Students can access freely available past papers from the applicable examination board’s website. If required, we can post past papers to students; although an additional administration fee will be applicable in this instance. Completed papers can be sent to us via post or scanned and sent via email. Please note that students completing mock examinations at home will not have access to the most up-to-date past papers, as these are restricted to in-centre use only.
We also recognise that some universities require a predicted grade as part of their admission procedure. We know this can present difficulties for many self-study candidates. To assist in this, we can contact the university concerned, indicating that we can provide a formal mock examination and mock grade for the candidate. Providing the university is happy to accept the mock mark / grade produced, we then simply arrange a date for the mock examination with the candidate.
Mock examinations usually involve the candidate sitting a recent examination paper in the relevant qualification (subject and board). Once the mock examination is marked, the candidate receives a predicted grade, which is then formally passed onto the university.
Booster classes (intensive small group examination preparation classes) are available in most subjects and at most levels at our centre. The classes are usually scheduled for just before the relevant exam/s (on weekdays and weekends) and concentrate on teaching candidates simple methods that can be applied to enable examination questions to be answered correctly. The classes are friendly and informal and do not involve candidates being ‘put on the spot’ – candidates can participate as much or as little as they like! Feedback from candidates attending our cramming classes is overwhelmingly positive – as well as their subsequent grades.
Candidates preparing for their examinations with us often attend one or more cramming classes to ensure that they are suitably prepared for their examinations.
